DELHI Arrive in India - Delhi the capital city

Today, India is an acknowledged super-power, a front-runner in Information Technology and other emerging industries; and yet still it reverberates with the philosophy of Atithi Deivo Bhava ("the guest is God").

DAY 03
DELHI Delhi , the Empress of Indian cities has a fascinating history and a stimulating present.

After breakfast proceed for full day sight seeing of New & Old Delhi.

Morning city tour of New Delhi the new capital designed by Sir Edward Lutyens. Drive past the Presidential Palace, the Rashtrapati Bhavan and the secretariat buildings - the center of all government activity and down the main avenue, the impressive Rajpath to the World War I memorial arch, the India Gate, the High Court Building and the Old Fort.

Afternoon visit old Delhi visiting the Red Fort, the 300-year-old walled city built by Emperor Shah Jehan in 1648 as his capital and named after him. The magnificent Red Fort built of red sandstone dates from the very peak of the Mughal power.

Evening visit Parsi Anjuman hall to witness the classical dances of India .

DAY 04
DELHI - HARIDWAR Early morning drive to Haridwar.

Haridwar is considered as the gateway to the four pilgrimages in the Uttrakhand region. It is located on the foot hills of Shivaliks and on the banks of River Ganga. Haridwar has earned fame as being the place which has been blessed by the trinity of Lord Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma. Not only in spiritual or religious terms Haridwar has come up as a major learning center for arts, science and culture.

DAY 05
HARIDWAR - RISHIKESH Full day sightseeing of Haridwar & Rishikesh.

RISHIKESH is located in the northern part of Uttar Pradesh. It is 238 km northeast of Delhi and 24 km north of Haridwar and spreads on the right banks of the Ganges , at its confluence with the Chandrabhaga stream. It is surrounded by hills on three sides and is perched at an altitude of 356 meters above sea level.

DAY 06
AMRITSAR Morning drive to Ambala railway station to board train to Amritsar . Meet and assist on Arrival at Amritsar Railway Station and transfer to Hotel.

AMRITSAR : the holy city of Sikhs has grown from a sacred village pond into a spiritual temporal centre of Sikh culture. The city gets its name from the pool-Amritsar (Pool of Nectar), which was constructed by the fourth religious preceptor of the Sikh faith.

Evening visit to the Golden Temple for evening closing Ceremony.

GOLDEN TEMPLE: Situated in Amritsar, Punjab, it is the most sacred temple for Sikhs.

JALLIANWALA BAGH MASSACRE , involved the killing of hundreds of unarmed, defenseless Indians by a senior British military officer, took place on 13 April 1919 in the heart of Amritsar, the holiest city of the Sikhs, on a day sacred to them as the birth anniversary of the Khalsa.

DAY 07
AMRITSAR After traditional Punjabi breakfast of Aloo Parathas commence sightseeing of the city. Visit Golden Temple for a briefing of Sikhism, Jalianwala Bagh, Central Museum , Taran Tarn.

Afternoon visit a local farming village for an insight into the life of the traditional Punjabi farming community.

Evening witness the Flag down ceremony at Wagah Border. This is the border between India and Pakistan .

Return to Hotel to freshen up before dining at a local Dhaba.

DHABA: traditional Punjabi food is served here.

Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 08
AMRITSAR - DELHI Morning at leisure. After Lunch proceed to Railway station to board the express Shatabdi Train to Delhi . On arrival transfer to hotel. Dinner at local Restaurant.

DAY 09
DELHI
AGRA Morning leave for Agra by surface.

On arrival transfer and check in to hotel.

Rest of the day at leisure to enjoy the facilities of the hotel.

DAY 10
AGRA Early morning (just before sunrise) visit the Taj Mahal for the most captivating view of the monument.

Later visit Agra Fort.

Agra Fort is situated on the banks of the river Yamuna, another monumental mission accomplished by the great Mughal visionary Emperor Akbar. Overnight at Hotel.

JAIPUR Drive to Jaipur en route visiting Fatehpur Sikri , (35 kms before Agra )

Check in to hotel.

Overnight at the hotel.

Evening meal at a traditional Rajasthani Resort - CHOWKI DHANI. Here you will be served traditionally vegetarian Rajasthani food. The Resort is in a very authentic village setting giving an insight into the life of the local villagers of Rajasthan.

Day 12
JAIPUR known as 'The Pink City' is where the enduring charisma of the past blends with the throbbing vitality of today.

The day begins with a visit to the Amber fort , the former seat of the Rajput rulers of Jaipur.


Afternoon visit the open-air royal observatory " Jantar Mantar ", with gigantic, astronomical instruments, the City Palace and Museum stopping by the "Hawa Mahal " or the Palace of Winds.

Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 13
JAIPUR
DELHI Morning at leisure.

Visit the local bazaars for souvenirs and gifts.

Afternoon drive to Delhi . On arrival transfer to hotel.

Farewell Dinner at the Hotel. (Formal)

DAY 14
DELHI
LONDON Full day at leisure for shopping or relaxing. All bags must be packed and check-out will be at 12:00pm.

Lunches will not be provided for on this day.

After late dinner transfer to Intl airport for onward journey to London . Late evening departure.
