Kenya is associated with the word ‘Safari’ which comes from Swahili. Right from the earliest times people from all over the world came to Kenya for hunting expeditions and some others for seclusion. Kenya is famous for its natural surroundings and its exotic wild- life, besides the scenic and striking natural- world there are also tranquil beaches that attract tourists from around the world. Game viewing is a very well- liked quest, visitors to Kenya are primarily interested in seeing the five species of animals specifically the Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Buffalo, and the Leopard, the African savanna and the lush forests are equally in demand. Kenya is also a land of real boondocks, distinct ecosystem, snow- capped mountains, lakes, rivers waterfalls, semi- desert and tropical rain forests.


The capital, Nairobi, is a regional commercial hub. The economy of Kenya is the largest by GDP in East and Central Africa. Agriculture is a major employer and the country traditionally exports tea and coffee, and more recently fresh flowers to Europe. The service industry is a major economic driver. Kenya is a member of the East African Community.
