Burma Itinerary Idea

7 Nights / 8 Days. 

Day 1: Arrives in Yangon and sightseeing. 
Arrive Yangon international airport in the morning, meet and transfer to the hotel. Then, set out on a sightseeing tour, visiting the highlights of Yangon to include the awe-inspiring Shwedagon Pagoda; Chaukhtatkyi pagoda, which is a colossal reclining Buddha; and the National Museum, filled with artifact and cultural exhibits of Myanmar.

Day 2: Yangon – Mandalay - & Inwa sightseeing . 
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for onward flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival, meet and transfer to the former royal capital of Amarapura. We will visit Mahagandayon monastery which is a school for young monks and the U Bein bridge. It is more than two centuries old and at 1.2 km is the longest teakwood span in the world. Afternoon, visit Inwa which was founded in 1364 and lasted nearly 400 years as a royal capital. Continue to visit the ‘leaning tower of Ava’, Maha Aungmye Bonzan, a brick-and-stucco monastery; and the elegant teakwood monastery Bagaya Kyaung.

Day 3: Mandalay sightseeing. 
After breakfast, commence sightseeing of Mandalay to include Mahamuni Pagoda, gold leaf hammering, Shwe Inbin Monastery; Shwenandaw Monastery, noted for its exquisite wood carvings; Kuthodaw Pagoda, renowned as the world’s largest book because it has stone slabs of the entire Buddhist scriptures and Mandalay Hill.

Day 4: Mandalay – Bagan (join-in boat). 
After breakfast, early morning depart from Mandalay Port for a fascinating journey on board the local Mandalay-Bagan ferryboat service. The journey will take whole day (about 9 hours) along the fabled Ayeyarwady River enjoying the sights and sounds of the river life and just relaxing. Arrive at Bagan and transfer to the hotel (If time permits) you may do some orientation.

Day 5: Bagan sightseeing. 
After breakfast set off on a sightseeing tour of one of Asia's most popular archeological destinations. Highlights include visits to Nyaung Oo Market; and many of Bagan’s distinctive pagodas such as Shwezigon, a prototype of later Myanmar stupas; Wetkyi-in- Gubyaukgyi, a 13th century ‘cave temple with interesting fine frescoes; Ananda Pagoda, one of the finest, largest and best preserved in Old Bagan; and next to it Ananda Ok Kyaung, one of the few surviving brick monastery buildings from the Early Bagan period. Afternoon, visit to a lacquer ware factory and also visit Dhammayangyi Pahto, a massive later period temple with the finest brickwork in Bagan. Then as the sun goes down you will be at one of the most ideal viewing sites to enjoy sunset.

Day 6: Nyaung U – Heho (flight to be advised) (coach class) – Heho – Inle (Drive). 
After breakfast transfer to Nyaung U airport for onward flight to Heho. Upon arrival, meet and drive to unique and magical Inle Lake, located about 1000 meters above sea level and 22km long by 11km wide. Continue to visit the highlights to include the fisherman rowing in the one-legged style that is characteristic of Inle Lake boatmen, and gardens of grass and earth floating on the surface of this shallow lake, floating strips of ‘land’ for growing vegetables. Apart from enjoying the scenery you will also visit the ‘jumping cats’ monastery, Phaungdaw U Pagoda and silk weaving.

Day 7: Indain sightseeing. 
After breakfast, we continue our Inle Lake sightseeing with a visit to Indain and its enchanting 16th century pagodas. To reach Indain and the nearby village you will take a boat ride up a small scenic creek that runs into Inle Lake.

Day 8: Heho – Yangon sightseeing & Yangon departure. 
After breakfast transfer to Heho airport for flight back to Yangon. Upon arrival, meet and drive to visit Botataung Pagoda, which is hollow and through which you can walk and see many ancient relics and artifacts and also have a short visit in China town before going to famous Scott Market, a sprawling 79 year old complex noted for its variety of handicrafts and other items which provide an excellent opportunity for a shopping spree. In the Afternoon transfer to the airport for return flight to UK.
