An ideal safari for those who want to combine Kenya and Tanzania! It includes, the cosmopolitan city of Nairobi, the famous Masai Mara, The Great Rift Valley and its lakes, Amboseli situated at the foothills of the highest mountain in Africa ? Mount Kilimanjaro, with its herds of elephants, Ngorongoro Crater where some of the world?s last black rhino?s are sheltered, Manyara famous for its birdlife,tree climbing lions and Zanzibar where the gentle smell of spices still wafts through the island. Each landscape offers unique landscapes, wildlife and culture. 

Day 1 : Nairobi. 
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, after disembarking from the aircraft, you clear customs and immigration formalities. You will be met and assisted by a NAKED WILDERNESS AFRIKA representative You are transferred to your Nairobi Hotel which is situated within the city centre. The day is at leisure. Overnight at Nairobi Serena Hotel. 

Day 2 : Masai Mara. 
Traverse the Rift Valley and ascend its western rim into the Masai land. Red-clad, with spear Masai warriors tend their herds of cattle among the wildlife, admirably unmoved by the presence of large predators. Afternoon game drive in search of wildlife. Overnight at Mara Serena Safari Lodge on full board basis. 

Day 3 & 4 : Masai Mara. 
Morning and afternoon game drives in this spectacular game reserve, all with superb photographic opportunities. The most spectacular feature is the annual migration of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle from the plains of Serengeti that cross the Tanzanian border and rivers to reach the Mara's grasslands from late June, tracked by predators: lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena and circled by vultures as the journey unfolds. Apart from the seasonal migration, game viewing is excellent year round. Game includes: - elephant, Black Rhino, buffalo, wildebeest, Burchell's zebra, hartebeest, various antelope and gazelle, lion, leopard, giraffe, elephant cheetah, hippo, crocodile and much more. Overnight at Mara Serena Safari Lodge on full board basis. 

Day 5 : Lake Naivasha. 
Breakfast at your lodge and proceed to Lake Naivasha ? the highest and purest of the Great Rift Valley lakes. Lunch at the Club. Today afternoon, you can take an optional boat trip on the lake. This area is famous for its birdlife - a breeding ground for pelicans, fish eagles, cormorants and more. You will also find other animals such as hippos, zebras antelopes, colobus monkeys. Overnight at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge on full board basis. 

Day 6 : Amboseli. 
Today you drive to Nairobi to arrive in time for lunch at the famous Carnivore Restaurant. Continue to Amboseli National Park situated at the foothills of the Majestic Mount Kilimanjaro - the highest mountain in Africa. Overnight at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge on half board basis. 

Day 7 : Amboseli. 
Morning and afternoon game drives to view wildlife against the backdrop of Mt Kilimanjaro. The park offers a wide variety of wildlife but the principal attraction is its vast herds of elephant within the park. The bull elephants here have some of the largest tusks in Kenya. Other game includes: zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, impala, leopard, caracal and serval cat. The park boasts a rich bird life such as ibis, egret, avocet, common and saddle-billed stork, secretary bird, heron, vultures, ducks, and geese. Overnight at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge on full board basis. 

Day 8 : Ngorongoro. 
After breakfast drive to the border post of Namanga where you will clear the immigration formalities, and drive to Arusha for lunch. Continue through the Ngorongoro Highlands to your lodge situated on the rim of the crater. The crater covers over 250 square kilometers (over 100 square miles) of land and is the home of the rare black rhino, prides of lion, elephant, cheetah and great herds of buffalo, antelope and wildebeest. Overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge half board basis. 

Day 9 : Ngorongoro. 
Today you will descend 600m (0ver 2000 feet) to the floor of the crater for a full day crater tour with picnic lunch. Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkey and elephant, the lake area, where you may see the flamingos and the open savannah where the lions hunt for food. Overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge full board basis. 

Day 10 : Lake Manyara. 
Breakfast at your lodge. Drive to Lake Manyara famous for its prolific birdlife and other inhabitants such as hippos, monkeys, tree climbing lions Lunch at your lodge. This afternoon you will drive down for a game drive. Overnight at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge full board basis. 

Day 11 : Zanzibar. 
Breakfast at your lodge and depart for Arusha. Catch your scheduled flight to Zanzibar. Zanzibar invokes so many different images for so many different people - history, culture, romance?. This ancient island was once ruled by sultans of Oman; pirates and explorers considered it their stepping stone into the African Interior. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your overnight hotel - Zanzibar Serena Inn on bed and breakfast basis. 

Day 12 : Zanzibar. 
Breakfast at your hotel. Today you will go on a half day spice tour . The guided tour of Spice is sure to sharpen your senses! Drive through the countryside to visit the spice plantations with an opportunity to pick, smell and savour exotic fruits and spices. 

Overnight at Zanzibar Serena Inn on bed and breakfast basis. 

Day 13 : Zanzibar. 
Breakfast at your hotel. Today your day is at leisure to laze around the pool or explore the narrow streets on your own. Overnight at Zanzibar Serena Inn on bed and breakfast basis. 

Day 14 : Depart. 
Breakfast at your hotel. Transfer to the airport for your onward flight. 

THE GREAT RIFT VALLEY

6 Nights / 7 Days. 


Magnificent wildlife, excellent accommodations and warm friendly open-hearted people! Your first night will be in cosmopolitan Nairobi. The safari starts with a unique "Treehotel" experience which comes alive at dusk, an adventure in itself. Proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park famous for its flamingos, leopards and rhinos. The last two nights of safari are at the famous Masai Mara, the most beautiful of all the Kenyan wildlife strongholds. Certainly it is the last place where huge concentrations of game can still be seen in their old abundance. All the big five are here: elephant, black rhino, buffalo, leopard and above all lion. 

This safari can be combined with a Tanzanian Safari. 

Day 1 : Nairobi. 
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport - Nairobi, you will be welcomed by Naked Wilderness representative and transferred to your hotel. Overnight at Hotel Intercontinental. 

Day 2 : Treehotel (Mt Kenya region). 
Drive via lush Kikuyuland to your all night game viewing lodge. From the balcony of the lodge you can see game coming to drink from the flood-lit waterhole. Overnight at Serena Mountain Lodge (B,L,D). 

Day 3 : Lake Nakuru. 
Breakfast at your hotel. Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park via Nyahururu Falls. Afternoon game drives to view the flamingos and other birds that feed in the alkaline water. Other game found in this park are black and White Rhino, buffalo, leopard, lion, Rothschild?s Giraffe, White and Black Colobus monkey, eland, steinbok, impala, Chandlers Reedbuck, dik dik, whilst rock hyrax, klipspringer, hippo and clawless otter. Overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge (B,L,D). 

Day 4 : Masai Mara.

After breakfast depart with picnic lunch to Isebania border where you will clear customs and board the Tanzanian Vehicles. Drive to your lodge situated in the Serengeti National Park with a game drive enroute. This enormous park supports every variety of animal imaginable - from large predators such as lion, leopard and cheetah to the smaller herbivores they prey on. Overnight at Serengeti Sopa Lodge (B,L,D). 

Day 7 : Serengeti
Breakfast at your lodge. Morning and afternoon game drives. More than two million wildebeest, Thompson's gazelle and zebra gather during the migration, attracting a great deal of attention from their predators such as lion, hyena, cheetah and leopard. Overnight at Serengeti Sopa Lodge (B,L,D). 

Day 8 : Ngorongoro. 
After breakfast drive to drive to Olduvai Gorge, site of Louis and Mary Leakey?s renowned archaeological discoveries. Their findings include some of the man?s earliest known ancestral remains. Continue to your lodge situated on the rim of the Ngorongoro crater. The crater covers over 250 square kilometers (over 100 square miles) of land and is the home of the rare black rhino, prides of lion, elephant, cheetah and great herds of buffalo, antelope and wildebeest. Day 12 : Depart. 
Breakfast at your hotel. Transfer to the airport for your onward flight.

Zanzibar is known as the spice island, which once produced most of the world's cloves. The sultans of Oman ruled this ancient Arab isle. The islands are still bathed in the rich heady aromas of cloves and cinnamon. The opulence of this period can still be sensed. Pirates and explorers considered it their stepping-stone into African interior. Come explore it's exciting past.
